 Toys for Tots:The Toys for Tots Program was established to be a community action program dedicated to providing Christmas toys to needy children throughout the nation. Toys for Tots began in 1947 in Los Angeles and was expanded nationwide in 1948. Successful campaigns have been conducted each year thereafter and now occur in more than 400 communities nationwide. Today, Toys for Tots is the Marine Corps’ premier community outreach action program and plays an important role in the Commandant’s Community Outreach Program.

The March of Dimes:The March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign is a multimillion-dollar research, awareness and education campaign to help families have healthier babies. Nearly half of all premature deliveries have no known cause. The March of Dimes Prematurity Research Initiative funds promising, innovative research into the causes of prematurity. The goal is to translate research findings into actions that will help prevent early births. In 2006, Congress passed and the President signed, the PREEMIE Act, which authorizes increased federal support for research and education on prematurity.

Transitional Housing B.A.R.N., Inc:B.A.R.N. exists to empower homeless women and their children to rebuild their lives and break out of the cycles of poverty, abuse, and neglect which often precipitate homelessness. B.A.R.N. believes that given the opportunity to acquire skills for living and for better jobs, homeless mothers will achieve self-sufficiency, and prepare themselves to motivate their children to continue to break the cycle of homelessness. B.A.R.N. provides a transitional housing program for mothers who are committed to improving their standard of living for themselves and for their children. While each mother will be accountable for the decisions she makes, B.A.R.N will provide the supportive environment the woman needs to pursue growth options on her way to self-sufficiency. While enhancing her marketable skills, the mother will be guided to improve her parenting, homemaking, relational, and personal skills as well.

The Greater Manassas Baseball League:The Greater Manassas Baseball League is a volunteer organization serving the youth of the Cities of Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William County. With the support of the community, coaches, and parents, their goal is to build confidence, citizenship, and positive character in our youth. They strive to accomplish these goals by educating and instructing the youth within our community in sportsmanship and the fundamentals of baseball.  By providing both a recreational and competitive environment for the beginner through advanced athlete, the Greater Manassas Baseball League hopes to assist each player reach their full potential. .

The American Legion:The American Legion is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its root involvement with the legislation process. It was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
